Jackie Kennedy-Onnasis Engagement Ring

After former United States of America President John F. Kennedy presented a 2.88 carat diamond and emerald proposal ring to Jackie, her friend Ari Onnasis gave her a L-color, VS2, marquise-shaped, 40.42 carat diamond as gift if she agreed to marry him. It is also assumed that Jackie only wore the ring twice before it was locked away in a bank vault in New York.

The precious stone was estimated to sell around $500,000 up to $600,000 at first. But the price swivels into $2.59 million

The stone was discovered in South Africa at Lesotho. The reason behind why the ring called Lesotho III.
